This week, I ran a small photo walk for colleagues at Funding Circle. As is often the way with free events, we went from 12 sign-ups to 3 actual attendees on the day but still had a lovely walk along the river taking photos and discussing photography.

I took our little group on a fairly obvious route from our offices in Mansion House, but one of my favourite walks: along the south bank of the Thames to the Royal Festival Hall. Along that route is Gabriel's Wharf and, while the weather was utterly grey for us on Wednesday, it did remind me of a favourite shot from five years ago (looking at the Exif in Lightroom, in fact on my third day at Funding Circle!).

This photograph is from the same evening walk as the photo of Blackfriar's Bridge I've published before, when the weather had that incredible stormy quality that brings out the best, contrasty light.
