The BALTIC gallery viewing deck

Fujifilm X-T5, 23.0mm, 1/40s, f/8.0, ISO 125

Nice soft window light on a grey day.

When I lived and worked in London, I used to love going on lunchtime walks to the Tate Modern with a camera. The people watching was great and the large open gallery spaces had great light.

The BALTIC Centre For Contemporary Art in Gateshead is the closest equivalent space I’ve found so far since moving back north, and the viewing deck provided some nice light on a recent grey-day visit.

The view itself is a nice view over the Tyne river and both Newcastle and Gateshead, but stepping back and capturing the visitors taking in the sight and the light pushing into the room made for a more interesting composition in this case.
