Sunset over Gibraltar

In 2010, I went on a road trip down through France and round most of Spain with one of my brothers. We packed a lot into a couple of weeks, including a day trip to Gibraltar.

Sadly, Christian had picked up a stomach bug the day before, but he soldiered on through the day and we got the cable car up to the top of the Rock to see the views and check out the famous monkeys. As the afternoon wore on, we started down the other side of the mountain only to find out the path finished in a dead end at an old fort and we'd have to climb all the way back up, then walk back down the other side as the cable cars had finished for the evening.

That walk wouldn't be fun normally at the end of a long day, but particularly not for Christian and his food poisoning. He did really well and we made the walk back, rewarded with a beautiful sunset over the Mediterranean.
