King Edward's Bay and Tynemouth Priory

Fujifilm X-T1, 23.0mm, 1/60s, f/8.0, ISO 2000

As we encountered plenty of drizzle today, here's an older photograph from a trip up in Tynemouth in December 2015. I don't think I'll ever tire of taking photographs of this little strip of coastline in the North East of England.

Much of my family lives in or around Tynemouth these days and it's such a beautiful area in any weather: rain, sunshine, somewhere in-between. I love being by the coast and walking along the beach or paths above, watching the waves roll in and the activity on the beaches.

Wreath hanging on a door in Tynemouth for Christmas

This photograph is a panoramic stitch of four frames and sadly that does show a bit in the waves, but I processed it so long ago I can't currently quite be bothered to attempt fixing it for the marginal improvement it would make to an image more about tone and feel. In an odd coincidence (I usually just pick out an image from my processed backlog to publish that I feel like talking about for each post), having posted a photograph of a wreath hanging on a door a couple of days ago I noticed I've also got a wreathed door photo queued up from the same day as this shot of King Edward's Bay and Tynemouth Priory.
