West India Quay mood

A long reach back into the archive for this one, taken 15 years ago but that I rediscovered last year and had a fresh attempt at processing.
Living near Canary Wharf in London at the time, I would go to the cinema near the West India Quay DLR station. With the overhead DLR rail line winding in between the tower blocks on the edge of Canary Wharf it was always visually interesting if a little busy.
For a lot of the time I lived there, there was building work going on around the DLR station and so there were often builders’ hoardings lining the path under the railway line.
On this day, I had my camera with me and took a couple of quick images walking through the path as the geometry of the DLR line and buildings took my interest.
The image sat in my Lightroom library for years though, as the raw image exposed a bit too much of the visual mess in the scene.
Scrolling through old photos though, something caught my eye this time and I decided to play with this image again, going for a much more crunchy tone, dropping shadows right down and it worked.
I think the image catches more of the mood of the scene now, so time to finally share it.
