Waiting for TomTom

I've been sitting here for a good few hours now as I (not so) patiently wait for TomTom to transfer maps of just about all of Europe onto my XDA II mini. I can't quite decide whether it's the software, or my phone that's the bottleneck (with a USB 2.0 connection, the wire shouldn't be the problem), but I do know it's annoying. The fact that the setup.exe is constantly maxing out one of the processor cores (ooh, look at him with his dual-core!) suggests to me it's the TomTom setup software (or maybe ActiveSync) that's the cause of the trouble. Want... to go... to bed...
